The Tree of Life
Seventh graders studied ancient Egyptian art including the significance of the Tree of Life.
After discussing how the Tree of Life is a universal symbol, we viewed - and discussed - the elements of art that Gustav Klimt used in his painting of the Tree of Life.
Afterwards, students created their own Tree of Life using oil pastels on black construction paper.
